Cozy Bottle Holder

Materials:

  • Half a skein of Woodland Whisper yarn
  • US size 8 (5mm) crochet hook
  • Sewing needle
  • Ruler
  • Scissors

Stitches uses / abbreviations:

  • Magic circle
  • Ch – chain
  • St(s) – stitch(s)
  • Sc – single crochet
  • Dc – double crochet
  • Hdc – half double crochet ∙ Sl – slip stitch

Wrap the yarn and make a loop. To start making a chain, insert a hook into the loop and pull the yarn into the loop.

Ch 4 and sl in the 1st st of the chain.

Round 1

Sc 8 in the circle.

Sc – pull the yarn from the st, you will have two loops on the hook, pull through the yarnin both loops.

Round 2

Sc 2 in each st till the end of this round. you will have 16 sc in total.

Sc in each st 16 times.

Sc 2 in each st, you will have 32 sc in total.

Sc in each st 32 times.

Round 6

Sc 2 in same st, sc 1 with – repeat this pattern till the end of this round. You will make 44 sc in total.

Round 7

Sc 44 in the back loop of each st.

Ch 3.

Skip 1, dc in the next st.

* Dc - yarn over, pull yarn from the stitch (3 loops on the hook), pull through two loops (2 loops on the hook), pull through remaining two loops (1 loop on the hook).

Ch 1, skip 1, dc in the next st – repeat this pattern till the end of this Round.

When you make the final dc, sl in the second chain of the initial ch 3.

Round 9 – Round 20 repeat Round 8.

Round 21

Sc 1 in each hole, you will have 22 sc in total around the edges. Sl in the 1st st to complete the round.

Hdc 22 , sl in the 1 st st to complete the round.

Hdc – yarn over, pull the yarn from the st, you will have 3 loops on the hook, pull throughthe yarn in all 3 loops.

Strap

Continue from Round 22, ch 120. The length of the strap will be approximately 35 inches. You may chain more or less chains, depending on the desired length of the strap.

To attach the strap to the project, mark the opposite side of the beginning of the strap and sc into the st (pull the yarn from the st, you will have 2 loops on the hook and pull through together in both loops). In order to secure the strap sc one more st in the same st.

Cut the yarn, leave 10 inches to secure the yarn. Weave the extra yarn by pulling it in and out of the stitches several times and in different directions.
