Odd rows are knit rows and RS. Even rows are purl rows and WS.

Ensure you tie a knot each time you introduce a new color to your project. Also, carry the non-working yarn across the row to maintain a neat and tidy reverse side. To create a float and secure the non-working yarn, lay it alongside the working yarn. As you draw through a loop with the working yarn, hold the non-working yarn together with it. Then, pull the working yarn under the non-working yarn and out of the loop. Continue this process by securing the non-working yarn every 2nd or 3rd stitch.

Row 4

Hooks & Needles

Do not forget to twist the yarns of different colors every time they meet in order to avoid
holes in the project.

Carry the yarn along the purl side as well with the same method.

I-cord bind off

Cast on 3 stitches. K2, k2tog – you now have 3 loops on your right-hand needle. Slip these loops back to the left-hand needle. Repeat k2, k2tog, slip 3 loops from right to left-hand needle until you reach the last 3 stitches, then cast them off.

Finish with I-cord cast off.

Place side A and side B RS facing, use a sewing needle, and sew the bag across three edges.

Straps

Take the corner of any side, pull up 8 loops, and start k8 in each row. Mix and match the colors. When one strap reaches 22”, cast off, fold it, and sew the end to the back side of the beginning. Pull up 8 loops from another side and k8 each row until it’s 26” (or your chosen length). Cast off and sew the end of this second strap to the middle of the folded first strap.

Buttons

Choose the side you want to attach the buttons to, place them, and secure them tightly. Take three 10” threads and braid them. Make two braids, slip and secure the knots on the opposite side of the bag from the buttons, and wrap the braids around the buttons.
