Materials:
∙ One skein of Perennial Blossom yarn
∙ US size 2 (2.75mm) crochet hook
∙ Sewing needle
∙ Scissors
Stitches uses / abbreviations:
∙ Magic Circle
∙ Ch – chain
∙ St(s) – stitch(s)
∙ Sc – single crochet
∙ Dc – double crochet
∙ Sl – slip stitch
To make a single crochet, insert the hook into the stitch, pull up a loop (resulting in 2 loops
on the hook), yarn over, and pull through both loops on the hook.
To make a double crochet, yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch (resulting in 3 loops on the hook), pull through the first two loops (leaving 2 loops on the hook), then yarn over again and pull through the last two loops.
Coaster
Make a magic ring.
Round 1
You will be working into the magic ring. Ch2, dc16 into the magic ring. Sl st into the 3rd chain (1st st of the round).
Round 2
Sc in each st 32 times. Increase round: ch2 and work into the same st and dc2. Continue
dc2 into every stitch till the end of the round (you should make 32 dc in total), slip stitch to
the first st.
Round 3
Increase round: ch2, dc2 in the same st, dc1 in the next st, repeat dc2 in the same st, and dc1 in the next st till the end of the round, sl st to the first chain (you should make 48 dc in total).
Round 4
Change color. You may cut the yarn and in- sert the new color where you made the last st, or you can sl the new color into the last st and pull the previous color yarn tightly.
Make a knot of an old and new color to en- sure that the new color is attached tightly to the project. Ch4, dc into the same st (ch and dc column will form V shape).
"Skip the 2 following sts, dc in the 3rd st, ch2 and dc into same st. Repeat *this pat- tern till the end of the round. Connect the last st to the 1st st with the sl st.
Round 5
Change to a different color.
Ch2 (counts as 1 dc), dc3 into a V-shaped ch2 space, release the hook from the st, insert the hook into the 1st dc st, grab the released loop, and pull it through the st.
Ch2. If you look at your stitches, you will notice a little center.
Dc into the center, ch2, dc into the center, ch2, dc into the center.
Ch2, sc into next stitch, ch2.
"Dc4 into the V-shaped ch2 space, release the hook from the st, insert the hook into the 1st dc st, grab the released loop, and pull it through the st.
Ch2, dc into the center, ch2, dc into the center, ch2, dc into the center, ch2, sc into next stich, ch2.
Repeat *this pattern till the end of the round.
Flower Pot
Round 1
Make a magic ring, dc12 into the magic ring. Sl st into the 1st st.
Round 2
Increase round: ch2, dc2 into every st. sl st into the 1st st (you will make 24 dc in total).
Round 3
Increase round: ch2, *dc2 in the same st, dc1 in the next st, repeat *this pattern till the end of the round, and sl st into the 1st st (you will make 36 sts in total).
Round 4
Ch1, sc all around but only in the back loop of each stitch.
Rounds 5-14
Repeat round 4.
Round 15
Sc in the back loops of each stitch. Sl st into the 1st st.
Weave in the loose end of the yarn.
